LEE MORGAN The Sidewinder (Rare 1964 US first press 5-track MONO LP on the 'New York USA' address label, with the 'Van Gelder' stamp & 'ear' etching in the run-outs; deep groove clearly visible on Side 1. Classic Blue Note date carried by the hugely popular title track & featuring other superb Morgan originals such as Totem Pole & Hocus-Pocus, also starring Joe Henderson, Barry Harris, Bob Cranshaw & Billy Higgins. Comes housed in the original pasted picture sleeve with the tax import sticker on the back. The sleeve is Excellent with a little creasing to corners, scuffing to top edge with all print clearly legible, with a tiny single letter annotation to back. The vinyl is graded Good with obvious scuffs and hairlines throughout; although after playtesting it still sounds fantastic (slight pops to Boy, What A Night) and only light background noise in the quieter passages.
