EASY CHAIR Retinal Circus Vancouver Concert (1968
Canadian promotional-only 5" x 7 & 1/2" postcard for the
June 20, 1968 concert at the Retinal Circus, Vancouver,
headlined by Easy Chair just months before Jeff Simmons was
discovered by FrankZappa when Easy Chair were booked as a
support act for a Mothers Of Invention concert in Seattle.
Other bands lost in the midst of time on that date were Fast
Freight, Mock Duck, Paisley Rain, The Loyalists &
Ectoplasmicassualt)

The Retinal Circus postcard series was born in the sparkling bayside city of Vancouver in the mid-1960s, when the culture was fast becoming shaped by the same psychedelic movement that was brewing in Seattle, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
In early 1967, Retinal Circus, a club previously called Dante's Inferno, began booking blues, rock, psychedelic, and rockabilly acts to perform inside its basement walls. Steve Seymour was one of three artists contributing to the Retinal Circus postcards & posters, and he employed a distinctly colorful style.
