DEXTER GORDON Go! (Very Rare 1962 US first press 6-track MONO vinyl LP, with 'New York USA' label address, 'Van Gelder' machine stamped in the run-offs both sides & an 'ear' etching in the run-outs. Comes housed in the original front laminatepasted picture sleeve with '43 West 61st Street, New York 23' address on the back & the original catalogue inner. With backing from Sonny Clark, Butch Warren & Billy Higgins, this is one of the all-time treasured Blue Note albums. See 'more info' for condition details... BLP4112)

This was pressed after “Blue Note Records” became an incorporated company & a registered trademark, so the 'INC' & 'R' on the labels is present [unlike earlier albums on the label] and the 'ear' mark visible in the run out grooves. Historically, it is the very first pressing from 1962. A combination of Van Gelder's sound engineering & Plastylite pressing was the 'golden age' of highest quality, Blue Note pressings.
Condition :-
The sleeve has survived in Very Good condition. There is a 1" split in the bottom right corner & a small paper split in the bottom left corner. The front panel is clean with a little foxing on the rear & the original '32/-' price annotation & tax import sticker is present. All print is legible including the spine.
The heavyweight vinyl is clean & grades Very Good. There are a few spindle marks & paper hairlines to show play. On its intended mono playback setting, the visual grade is rendered purely cosmetic & the sound quality remains superb.
Although far from mint, this is a nice acceptable example.
