SHM-CD [Super High Material CD - playable on all CD players],
issued to radio stations and reviewers ahead of the actual
release. Originally released in 1965, now digitally remastered for
2011 and expanded with a bonus disc containing Mono
mixes, Alternate Takes, Interviews and Live Recordings at the
BBC; with a custom stamped inner rim on each disc , with each
in their own mini-LP style card piture sleeve featuring the original
UK jacket & alternative, with a lyric booklet & promo stickered
obi-strip UICY-75027/8)
TRACKLISTING AND EXTRA INFORMATION
The SHM-CD [Super High Material CD] format features enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastic. Using a process developed by JVC and Universal Music Japan discovered through the joint companies' research into LCD display manufacturing, SHM-CDs feature improved transparency on the data side of the disc, allowing for more accurate reading of CD data by the CD player laser head. SHM-CD format CDs are fully compatible with standard CD players.
