GALLOWS Grey Britain (2026 Remaster UK/EU 13-track double album 2-LP pressed on Black Vinyl)

Widely regarded as one of the great British heavy records of the century, first released in 2009 and now reissued with its first ever remaster by Matt Colton at Metropolis Studios. A relentlessly bleak concept album and a snapshot of a country falling apart: fractured, broke, and politically rotten.

Produced by Garth Richardson, whose credits include Rage Against the Machine and Biffy Clyro, and mixed by Andy Wallace (Nirvana, Slayer), the record fuses vicious hardcore, thrash, and dark symphonic weight. From the crushing riffs of 'London Is The Reason' and 'I Dread The Night', to the rollercoaster swings of 'The Vulture (Acts I & II)' and 'Misery', it plays like the soundtrack to a nation's collapse.

It is also the sound of a band levelling up: field recordings from the River Thames, piano tracked at Abbey Road, and a 33-piece orchestra recorded at AIR Studios. Guest spots include Simon Neil of Biffy Clyro on 'Graves', plus backing vocals from Cancer Bats and Rolo Tomassi. The 2026 remaster brings new clarity to the wall of sound. Recommended.
