Black Sabbath Vol. 4 - 1½ - EX UK Vinyl LP

BLACK SABBATH Vol. 4 (Very rare 1972 UK 10-track stereo LP on the Vertigo small “swirl” label, featuring the scarce transitional variant with “Made in England” text on the labels while still retaining the original VO price code on the rear sleeve, with porky/pecko run-out etchings and 1//1, 2//1 stampers. Housed in the first-issue gatefold picture sleeve with integral four-page colour photo booklet and no track timings inside. The “Made in England” text was absent from the very first batch and only introduced partway through production, making copies that combine this detail with a VO price code significantly rarer than the standard first-press swirl. By 1972 the swirl inner had been phased out; this copy comes with the correct poly-lined white inner sleeve printed “Plastic Bags Can Be Dangerous”. Notably, the inner has been enthusiast-annotated by a former owner, featuring band names, illustrations, and period newspaper photo clippings — a genuine super-fan touch that adds character and era-authentic charm. The sleeve shows light shelfwear only, with a few faint creases and minor marks; the booklet is just slightly loose at the bottom. Overall sleeve grading Excellent. The vinyl itself remains Excellent or better, with only minimal cosmetic signs of play and now stored in an additional protective inner. A highly desirable and increasingly hard-to-find transitional UK pressing, and arguably even tougher to source than the earliest first-run copies!)
