AFFINITY Affinity (Monster Rare 1970 UK first issue 7-track stereo LP, on the large 'swirl' label with Vertigo lettering below the centre hole, housed in the Keef designed matt gatefold picture sleeve with the original '0470' dated 'swirl' poly inner. This fantastic album is best described as a cross between The Trinity & Jefferson Airplane, with Linda Hoyle's vocals crossing from Jools to Grace Slick at various points in the album. Ably abetted by Mo Foster on Bass, Mike Jupp on Guitar, Lynton Naiff on Keyboards & Grant Serpell on drums. The combination of extraordinary vocals, grinding guitar & swirling Hammond make this a classic of its genre.

Condition :-

The gatefold sleeve has an unforgiven matte finish & there shows minor signs of shelfwear in places: some light corner fluffing and the occaisional small scuff to the front, nothing too excessive. The inside panels have some speckling evident. The spine is bold & easily readable with only a small blemish in the middle - a nice example, grading comfortably at VG.

Comes with the original dated large Vertigo swirl inner sleeve with the poly-inside. The centre die-cut has two small tears and has a small scribble in one corner.

The labels reveal some spindle marks from play, not to detract from the overall quality of the playing surface. For completeness sake, the matrices in the dead wax read:

The vinyl remains in Very Good condition, displaying some ultra-fine light cosmetic brushing, visible upon a closer inspection under a strong light source, along with 3 small, visible hairline scuffs (total amount for both sides), none of which can be felt to the touch and do not have any real impact on play. A nice example of this impossible to find original & what a great album it is, only in recent years viewed as a vital piece of the British underground. We are highly unlikely to repeat this one any time soon...!
